FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Because we make dry ice every day right here in New Jersey.
  • When other distributors can't get you dry ice because their suppliers cut their shipments or didn’t send dry ice at all, Top Dry Ice Manufacturing will be making dry ice.
  • When other distributors send you sublimated dry ice made last week, our ice will be fresh and the full weight you paid for.
  • When your schedule or quantities change, we won't tell you to wait until we get our next order -  we'll just make more.

At Top Dry Ice Manufacturing, we are dry ice experts. After twenty years in the business, we grew tired of dry ice supply disruptions, sublimated product, arbitrary price hikes, and allocations so we decided to make our own dry ice. We knew there was a need in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania for fresh, quality dry ice and the only way to meet that need was to make it here. Manufactured by Cold Jet, our dry ice machines are the best made today. Our facility is engineered with an efficient CO2 supply system and production line that can produce over 1,000,000 pounds of dry ice a month. Designed for expansion, we will increase this capacity to over a million pounds a week.  Large quantities come in our custom insulated totes and we offer bagged ice delivery,  dry ice box delivery or we’ll fill your insulated cooler when you pick up.

Top Dry Ice Manufacturing is not just a dry ice manufacturer, we're also experts in frozen fulfillment. Let us share our 10 years of experience with you. Not all frozen foods are alike, and scale matters - engineering the best way to ship perishable products is critical to guarding margins and preserving quality. Whether you are just starting to ship your brand direct to consumer or taking the next step to grow your business, we'll design the right shipping solution with top-quality dry ice to safeguard your product.  When the time comes to concentrate on your brand and leave the logistics to us, we'll store, pack and ship for you. Have a question? Wondering how to start? Ask us! The only wrong question is the one that isn't asked.

Dry Ice is made from recycled CO2 that is captured from biogas, ethanol production and industrial processes. By reusing CO2 that would otherwise be lost, dry ice converts waste into a valuable product for cooling and cleaning and plays a critical role in many industries Dry ice is available in many forms. Our state-of-the-art equipment produces precisely weighted blocks, pellets and rice and we also offer custom-cut dry ice cubes and crushed ice

  • Food Processing: Dry Ice rapidly chills ingredients, reducing energy for cooling and diversifying production processes.
  • Wholesale Food Distribution: Distributors ensure temperature control and save fuel by utilizing Dry Ice.
  • Perishable Shipping by Mail: Dry Ice packed with frozen and perishable products keeps them frozen and at a safe temperature as they ship directly to the consumer.
  • Home Use: Save on trips to the grocery for water ice when keeping food and beverages cold for large events. Dry Ice is a perfect long duration solution for keeping coolers cold while camping.
  • Airline Catering:Keeping food and beverages cold without using power.
  • Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals: Dry Ice is a critical tool in the logistical cold chain for storing and preserving biological samples, blood, plasma, and temperature sensitive drugs and vaccines in transit.
  • Industrial Cleaning:Pressurized Blast cleaning with Dry Ice particles - Dry Ice Blasting - is water and chemical-free and leaves no residue. Applications range from cleaning manufacturing and food production machinery to car detailing. Dry Ice Blasting machines are also designed to handle delicate cleaning tasks such as smoke damage, mold remediation, or historical preservation.
  • Emergency Cooling in Power Outages/Mechanical Failure:During power outages, frozen and refrigerated foods must remain cold. Dry Ice preserves inventory until power and HVAC machinery can be restored.
  • Manufacturing: Dry Ice Blasting cleans precision molds, removes burs from cast parts, prepares surfaces for coatings, provides in-place cleaning for any industrial process without introducing water, solvents, or damaging critical surfaces.
  • Entertainment:Fog Machines for Parties and Events rely on dry ice and its mist lends itself to dramatic cocktail presentations. Dry Ice effects are a mainstay of Stage and Film Productions
  • Pest Control:Dry ice is used to dispatch rodents and to attract and trap bedbugs and mosquitos.
  • The temperature of Dry Ice is - 109 Fahrenheit.
  • Dry Ice is Carbon Dioxide that has been super-cooled under pressure to a solid state. At normal temperature and pressure, it reverts directly back to a gas without "melting" to a liquid. This process is called Sublimation.
  • The chilled air resulting from this sublimation is what creates the "fog effect" used in special effects.
  • To extend the useful life of Dry Ice, store it in a properly insulated container and the sublimation rate can be controlled to anywhere from 2% - 10% a day
  • Remember Dry Ice is EXTREMELY cold - never handle without gloves or other skin protection. Do not allow children to handle dry ice.
  • Dry Ice is an Asphyxiation risk. Always handle dry ice in a well-ventilated area. Because dry ice is compressed CO2, the volume of gas it contains is many factors greater than the volume of the block or pellets. As a result, in enclosed spaces, the expanding CO2 will crowd out the rest of the air and the Oxygen it contains. Asphyxiation can result from breathing only CO2.
  • Do not leave Dry Ice on tiled surfaces, stone, or other materials that can crack from rapid freezing. Do not flush down drains.
  • Leave any unused Dry Ice uncovered in a well-ventilated, safe area, away from children and pets, and allow it to sublimate away.
  • Perishable Shipping: Make sure you have the correct insulated cooler and a secure carton and minimize voids where air can contact the dry ice. There is no one rule of thumb for sending frozen perishable items in the mail. Different products freeze and thaw at different rates and different temperatures. Top Dry Ice can work with you to design the best shipping configuration for your packaging, product and shipping time.
  • Dry Ice Blasting: Dry Ice Blasting systems are designed for a variety of uses, from delicate cleaning to industrial applications where dry ice is mixed with other abrasive media. Smaller systems use as little as 0.7 lbs. a minute, larger blasters utilize up to 2.5 lbs. per minute. We manufacture to your requirements.
  • Emergency Cooling: During power outages or equipment failures, Dry Ice can preserve your frozen inventory. The amount needed will vary depending on the volume of your storage space and the amount of frozen product.
