Sublimation over long transit times reduces the density of blasting rice. When dry ice loses density, it loses energy content and cleaning power. One of the dynamic factors that powers dry ice cleaning is the release of energy that occurs when the dry ice particle “explodes,” releasing the huge volume of gas contained within a dry ice particle. This explosion dislodges the frozen, brittle contaminants from the surface being cleaned.
